Dogs Trust

D

ogs Trust (formerly the National Canine Defence League) is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, caring for over 11,500 stray and abandoned dogs each year through its network of 15 Rehoming Centres across the UK. At Dogs Trust, we never put to sleep a healthy dog. Dogs Trust is working towards the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction

Last year, the charity launched the Canine Charter for Human Health to increase awareness of the health benefits of owning a dog. Copies of the Charter were distributed to GPs, counsellors, therapists and anyone working with the improvement of health and wellbeing for them to display or hand out to the public.
